This Story Shows me about spiritual journey to the high places. It shows me about the love and affection between people. Throughout Much-Afraid's journey, she have learned many things. She learned how to love others, eventhough not loved in return. Trust helps strenghthen relationship.
Without trust, we cannot do things together well. When we trust, we have a believe that we will be able to accomplish our goals or things that seems impossible. Much-Afraid trust in the Chief Shepherd to lead her through the path that seems impossible for her, but her trust in the Chief Shepherd and on her discission which had helped guide her up the steep mountains and other difficult paths to go.
Love sometimes make someone feel good, but also sometimes makes people feel bad. To love is happy eventhough you are not loved in return. To love and to be love in return is not always possible. A person might be happy when being loved in return, but if he or she is not loved in return, sometimes it feels bad. So to feel good to love others without being loved in return will make a person feel happy and content.

Dreams of Much-Afraid (first person)
I felt that myself is different from other people. No one really cared much for me. I feel as it my life is meaningless. I am lame, and not as beautiful as other women. Am I worthy enough for others to care for me? Only the Chief Shepherd really understands me.
My neighbors, the people in the village, the Shepherd and his servants seemed to be good to me, but why my family and relatives seems very rough with me. They forced me to do what I don't want to do, which includes for me to marry Craven Fear. I was torture by their words and actions, which don't cared how I felt at all.
Apart from other people, I want my family to love me. I want them to understand how I feel. I want to be loved in return. Eventhough I cared for them, it seems useless. They don't want to try to understand how I feel, but wanting me to do what they want.
I want to feel understand how love is. The Shepherd had taught me about how to love without wanting in return. I know that to love feels good, but to me I still want to be love in return. I do not want anything much more, but just want to feel how it is like to be loved in return, and another thing I dreamed for is to have a much understanding family.

Hind's Feet on High Places
Much-Afraid was worried that the Shepherd might have thought that she had changed her mind not to go to the high places. So she woke up during the night and went searching for the Shepherd. She went to the fields to find the shepherd, but instead she saw the watchmen. The watchmen told her that the shepherd now was traveling to the high places. Much-Afraid was shocked, and continue searching for him. Before the sun rises they met each other and go on their journey to the High Places.

Now after Much-Afraid and her Companions- Sorrow and Suffering had traveled through the steep mountainous path, they reach the plateau where the Chief Shepherd is waiting. Up there was a little pine forest and many berry plants. Much-Afraid looked back to the path she had traveled from and realized how far she had come forward. And soon after Much-Afraid and the Shepherd had greeted each other, the Shepherd then again leave Much-Afraid and her companions.
Much-Afraid and her companions traveled through the forest. For the day when the night comes, Much-Afraid and her companions found a hut and stayed there for the night. The rain poured down heavily, the trees fell down, and luckily not any single drop of it went into the hut. There were food prepared on the table, which they had eaten it.
During the night when Sorrow and Suffering were still sleeping, Much-Afraid was awakened by the voice. The voice told her to come out. Much-Afraid noticed that the voice is the Lord calling her. When Sorrow and Suffering woke up and cannot find Much-Afraid, they come out of the hut and search for her.
It rained heavily outside. When Sorrow and Suffering found Much-Afraid, they told Much-Afraid to go back to the hut, but Much-Afraid refused. Much-Afraid told Sorrow and Suffering that the Lord had told her not to go backward but to go forward. So instead of going back to the hut, they slept under a cave. And the next morning they continued on their journey.
